Idaho 4th of July Parade from Boise: What you need to know

The Idaho 4th of July Parade live from Boise will take place in front of the Idaho Capitol building.

Schedule of events

5 am – Live broadcast of CBS2 News This morning.

6:45 am – CapEd’s Hot Air Balloon will take off (weather permitting).

7 am – Community Breakfast at Cecil D Andrus Park benefiting Veteran Entrepreneurial Alliance.

9 am – Singing of the National Anthem on the steps of the Capitol.

9:17 am – Reading of the Declaration of Independence

10 am – Parade begins

Parade hosts

Former Governor Butch Otter and Former First Lady Lori Otter join CBS2’s Sarah Jacobsen and Newstalk KBOI’s Nate Shelman for this year’s parade.

How to watch the parade

People wanting to watch the parade in person can pick a spot along the parade route.

The parade is being televised on CBS2 in Boise and KLEW TV in Lewiston. It’s not guaranteed all parade entries will be televised.

The parade will be streamed on Idahonews.com, the CBS2 Facebook page, and the CBS2 YouTube page.

How to listen to the parade

You can listen to the parade on Newstalk KBOI radio. That’s 670 AM and 93.1 FM.

Seating for people with disabilities

Seating for people with disabilities is in front of the Idaho Capitol building.

There will be signs pointing people to the marked seating.

Tents will be set-up as well – and that space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Community breakfast

The Veterans Entrepreneurial Alliance is hosting this year’s community breakfast sponsored by Albertsons. It will take place at 7 AM at Cecil D Andrus Park. Proceeds from the sales of breakfast items support the work of VEA.

Marching band

More than 160 musicians are participating in The Idaho 4th of July Honor Marching Band & Color Guard under the Direction of Phil Hartman. The band is brought to you by Armada and sponsored by Dunkley Music. Registration for this year’s band is now closed as rehearsals are taking place.

Parade of Flags

Flags representing the U.S., all 50 states, and the 6 branches of the U. S. military will make their way along the parade route. This is a rare chance to see these flags in person.
